Distressing

As some of you know, I just got back from Sonoma County CA for a paint workshop with Anne Skougaurd... I learned soooo much!! I cannot wait to go to the next one. I love learning new way to paint and distress and love new products :)

For this little cabinet I was going for a weathered look, like peeling paint... got this at the Habitat for Humanity store:
As you may know, I am the Southern Oregon Retailer for CeCe Caldwell clay and chalk paints and with this paint, there is NO priming or Sanding! yay!!

so I first painted the top with Spring hill green (CeCe paint) let dry, then painted on a deep turquoise latex paint from Lowe's... then i let dry and painted on Destin Gulf Green--kindof blobbed it on is spots i was going to wipe off for the layered look (CeCe paint) then let dry..
I then sanded with a dewalt sander - I then waxed with CeCe wax and DONE!!

Vermont slate buffet

I have been waiting to use all my new CeCe Caldwell colors!! So this buffet was in great shape, nice shiny finish.. love that i did not have to sand!!

I brushed on a very light coat of "Pittsburgh Gray" then mixed a little water with "Vermont Slate" and really like the way this color turned out. Its a dark grey that looks great with white accents.  I then stenciled on a wreath with Vermont slate (not watered down)

Its so pretty!!!

New Paint venture~

Where should I start..... I think some may think im craaa-zay taking on a new venture in my furniture painting business... showcasing and selling a paint that i love!  It doesn't seem crazy to me :) :)   I love CeCe Caldwell Paint.. the colors are fun and the coverage is amazing.. i have an obsession with chalk paints!!  A little about the Company:
CeCe Caldwell's paints are 100 % naturally green, people & earth friendly.
No Volatile Organic Compounds(VOC's), non-toxic & no odor, it's a mineral paint. The minerals are clay, porcelain clay, & chalk blended into a water-base solution.

The clear wax is very low odor, non-streaking & made from insect & plant sources. Both paint & wax are packaged in ...recycled plastic containers.( I swear, i cannot smell the wax, and it goes on like butter!!)

The paint is self-priming, superior adhesion means that most surfaces don't require a prep coat of primer prior to painting. One or two coats generally give complete coverage.

Follow with a coat of clear wax & you have painting made easy, whether you're a DIYer, professional, or a first-time painter.

The color inspiration comes from the mountains, coastal areas, deserts, cities & rural towns all across the United States.

CeCe Caldwell's has created an eco-friendly, easy to use chalk & clay paint. It's naturally green, in the color of your choice.

Here are a few before and afters of my first time using the paint... Im very excited about this!! can you tell??!!
Before.. nice and white and very scratched up.. i literally just brushed a coat of Destin Gulf Green over this white paint...

Watching paint dry!! And Looovin it!!

I Love this color!! Its a pop of color but neutral at the same time~

Here she is, getting ready for her makeover....

2 Coats of Young Kansas Wheat.. (which i think may be my favorite color from the line) and then distressed, with a light coat of clear wax, I promise you guys.. this took me about 40 minutes start to finish, the paint dries so fast!!

So come in to the shop, pick your favorite color and get your paint on!!!!
