Table Makeover with Burlap and Nail Head Trim

The burlap has gone to my head ;)

This time, I used some stenciled burlap to fluff up
this pretty little table for it's makeover.

The shabby old table started out with a few coats of paint on it already, but it was super sad and boring ...

It needed some help!
So in comes the CeCe Caldwell paint to the rescue.
Before:

Before:

I mixed my own color for it this time, I used CeCe Caldwells Seattle Mist, (a light grey) and Blue Montana Sky, (a gorgeous blue) and a hint of Simply White.

My Formula;
I used a 50/50 mix of; Seattle Mist & Blue Montana Sky.
And then added about a tablespoon of Simply White.

I put on one good coat of this custom mixed color.
Yep, it only needed one coat!
I then water distressed the edges for the black to come through.

Next, I used bronze nail heads to nail on a ribbon of stenciled burlap. I Loooooove the finished table it's just so pretty!
Don't you love it when that happens?

When I was done, it struck me
that this would make an adorable desk!!

So, for display I found a curvy lined captains chair in the shop and painted it to match.
If I needed another desk, I so would have kept this piece!

Hazard of the job ;)
You want everything. LOL

It's headed down to the shop today awaiting a new home.

Happy Painting!
Mindy

  4. This is really cute. I just found your blog, and we live close (we kind of) I live in Battle Ground, WA! Anyhow, do you always use a stencil, or have you done transfers too? I am having a hard time figuring out putting print on furniture. Where is a good place to buy stencils? Now following!
