The Showstopper

I got so Lucky finding this on Craigslist. I snapped it up only 10 minutes after it was posted! I see these all the time in shops and they are usually marked "not for sale".  Probably because they are so pretty.

Here is how it looked before:
I knew it with all those apothecary drawers it needed to be white with glass
then after painting, the inside needed to be shown off with grey.

Oh how I wish this piece would work in my dining room. I have another hutch with more storage that is more practical holding all my Christmas platters and tablecloths..... so this will go to one of the shops... somebody is going to LOVE this though!

a week with no kids

Where to start.... my mom and dad took my kids for 7 days camping this past week, I was super nervous since we had never been apart for so long. In my mind I had all the things i could accomplish in these 7 glorious days...

Day 1:  picture me pacing around my house sort of picking up here and there, doing pretty much nothing, checking my phone every 2 minutes to see if they arrived safely or had called me for anything... got basically nothing done :)
totally not my plan

Day 2: missing my kids. wondering if they are having fun, actually did all the laundry and cleaned the house. waiting for my phone to ring....got a message from mom that they had no cell service but the kids are having fun...  eeeeeek! total panic that i wouldn't have contact for 5 more days!!

Day 3: husband told me to take total advantage of the time i had and to stop worrying about the kids ( what happened to my 7 glorious days to be creative and productive??! I'm down 3 days!

Day 4-7: finally got my butt in gear and painted 8 large pieces of furniture and made a ton of tags and chalkboards and still had time to buy school supplies and grocery shop ...

My kids came home with amazing memories and ear to ear smiles!

I didn't have time to stage any of my furniture but here are a few pictures of what i did get done... more to come later!

I just got an A-m-a-zing hutch off craigslist tonight about 20 minutes ago, you are going to die i tell you. its one of those that are hard to find, with the apothecary drawers all along the bottom, it is going to be so gorgeous white with glass knobs! eeeek i cant wait to paint it!!

Waterfall nightstand~

I don't usually buy the waterfall style furniture, but this one was so sad and alone at the yard sale i took it home. I haven't ever seen an iron burn on a piece of furniture either!!

I filled the holes with Elmer's wood putty, then sanded the iron burn off. It didn't take much to get it off.

then with a few coats of white and a cute little applique and glass knob its adorable!!

White Buffet~

This beauty has been sitting in my garage, the entire top needed to be heavily sanded, and it had that dark stain on it, that requires a few coats of primer,,, so its been sitting for months.... staring at me.

Here it was after i started sanding..

The sanding is my least favorite part. That's why this one sat so long. I love to just paint it and be done! I have no patience!!

Here it is done, I really LOVE the way it turned out. I love white on anything. Its so cheery. This will be heading to the shop on Wednesday. I wish i had room for it at home!!

Love the detail. so pretty.
